The Following is An Example "Email" Consultation done for a Client of a Colleague:

...It is my pleasure to give you any information i can.

There are many other options to employ, but these are specific to  your client, Joyce;
cuz' that's what i do.
I intuit the specifics...

Some Symptoms of Menorrhagia (heavy or excessive menstrual bleeding)
are:
  1.  A menstrual period that lasts longer than seven days
  2.  Menstrual flow that includes large blood clots
  3.  Heavy periods that interfere with your regular lifestyle
  4.  Constant pain in your lower abdomen combined with heavy menstrual periods
  5.  Tiredness, fatigue or shortness of breath (symptoms of anemia)

She seems to be experiencing the first and last symptoms.

Left untreated Nutritionally and addressed with artificial hormone replacement the condition can lead to much more serious female issues down the road.

In any case, these are my suggestions and of course it is advised that you run them passed your physician.

The causes of the condition can be multi-factorial, but I am just going to speak on those specific to Joyce.

Joyce, as I perceive it, has hormone Imbalances.
Some food inclusions will help, turnip would be specifically good for her; at least a cup a week. You can purchase that mashed or in cubes in the frozen food section of the supermarket. I suggest one cup a week.
The 2% progesterone cream we discussed on the phone will address the progesterone issue.

I perceive a Vitamin K deficiency, and there are dietary insufficiencies that need to be addressed.

Re. Joyce:

If Joyce were to have a complete blood count done (CBC) depending on what time of the month it was done, and other factors, it may or may not show, she was in need of Progesterone as hormonal support. If it were to be indicated, a physician would most likely choose to give her Aygestin or Provera, both are synthetic hormone progesterone replacements. The 2% Progesterone cream is the Natural way to do the same thing.

If you would care to consult a Naturopath, that would be very beneficial. i would be happy to send my thoughts along, or consult on the phone.  Joyce is so young it seems preferable to pursue natural means first.

A 2% Progesterone Cream (Can be purchased at a Health Store; WalMart sometimes, also carries Progesterone  cream but 2% is what is needed.)

It is important NOT to buy YAM Cream...They Are Not The Same Thing At All. Although it is touted as helpful, it is not sufficient to the task of properly regulating the hormones. The 2% Progesterone Cream is a very different and specific product.

  1.  The 2% Progesterone Cream is to be applied DAILY for  2 weeks:
Take out a Dime Sized Dollop, about 1/4 tsp.
Apply it to some fatty tissue area of the body, e.g., Top of Arm, Back of Arm. Back of Thigh, Abdomen etc.  Do this for a two week period, as a loading dose.

After the 2 week period, use the Cream, with the same application method once a month.
I know that does not seem sufficient, but because I am tuning-in to her personal needs, I can tell you, it truly is, at this time sufficient. Her need may change in the future, but I always prefer to suggest the lowest dose, and least invasive means to get the body to re-balance itself.

To assist with Blood Clotting:
  1.  Vitamin K 100 mcg (can be purchased at most WalMart) You will not find any variability in the dosage.
1 a day for a week; thereafter, 2 a week for a month or until improvement is most noticable; then 1 a month.

I also intuit Serotonin imbalances they can be addressed by taking:

  1.  5 HTP (available at Walmart) 1 a day, along with some dietary changes. This will also address the fatigue and lack of luster she has been experiencing.

  1.  Joyce needs more Vitamin D not through supplementation but through God's gift;  “The Sun.” Please have her sit in the sunshine, even if it's coming in through a window.

  1.   A Zinc supplement would be helpful ( available at Walmart). If it's a 50 mg tablet, one taken every other day, (Zinc used to be available in 25 mg tablets at WM, but a client tells me 50 mg is all to be found now.

  1.  Optimum for Joyce is, 25 mg, of Zinc a day.
1 a day, for 2 weeks; thereafter 2 a week

  1.  Essential fatty acids are critical to health. The body can not manufacture these, that is why they are called essential.  Helping with a wealth of health issues, not the least of which is mood enhancement and overall better mental function, they are indeed essential.

There are Omega 3s, 6s and 9s, not to get too detailed, for our purposes suffice it to say; there is a wonderful product, that does the balancing of this group. It is called :

HIGHER NATURE OMEGA NUTRITION ESSENTIALS. If this product can't be found choose something that will be a blend of Omega 3s and Omega 6s. (WalMart, again might have an option.)

Dietary Recommendations:

Joyce needs to Avoid Sugar, which is the non-nutritive culprit in most health challenges. It  is either a major causative factor or truly worsens most challenging health conditions.
Sugar and its non-nutritive friends: White flour, White bread, non-whole grain pastas, corn syrup and the like, are enemies to her health. All refined and over processed foods do us in!!!

The better the quality of food the better her health will be, especially, in regard to the the PMS.

WHOLE GRAIN (not Whole wheat) breads, crackers, cookies and cakes are recommended.
No hydrogenated fats. Those are fats that are solid at room temperature, e.g., shortening, lard, etc. It is the fat type found in most main stream commercial cake mixes and bakery products, because it is the cheapest product for manufacturers to use.
No CAFFEINE, for her. It is an enemy and it is a culprit in breast cancer, which runs in her family; so avoid it.
No NUTRA-SWEET, for her. It is a POISONOUS ENEMY!
Cola drinks in general - Not Good For Her. The phosphates are disrupting her calcium balance.

She is just out of balance an easily dealt with problem.
